About
I'm Ilija "Elli" Cakar (you'll also see it spelled Ilijah), based in Adelaide. My background is property — site acquisition, feasibility and planning across South Australia — and more recently I've applied that experience to building software for the property industry.
The thread through all of it is the same: most of the hard-won knowledge in property development lives in practitioners' heads and dies with each project. I build products that turn that knowledge into tools anyone can use — from site-finding engines to feasibility calculators to visualisation pipelines.
Current work
Background
Before software, my work was property itself: residential development projects, commercial property, and several years operating hospitality venues in Adelaide. The hospitality group I ran failed in 2019 — a hard ending, and not only for me — and the lessons from that period shaped how I build now: smaller bets, conservative numbers, tools before headcount.
Every product I ship starts from a real problem I've had myself.
